                          This is not your mother's World Book.   World book web includes hyperlinks, pictures, video and audio clips, a dictionary, website links, periodicals, a citation generator, and even research guides. World Book has the perfect encyclopedia for every grade level!  Each of the modules will open with a click of the link when students are in school.  Away from school, it will be necessary to put in a username and password (see your librarian).

This includes Ebsco's E-book collection and the Funk and Wagnalls Online Encyclopedia. This database used to be H.W. Wilson Full Text Select.

                          Looking for an article, book or movie but can't find it in our library OR the local public library?  World Cat allows you to search libraries around the world for your item.  We have relationships with many academic libraries and other institutions in our region (and beyond).  Ask Ms. Parker-Hennion and she can request it via inter-library loan and can often get the item within a week.  If you  need help using this database, just ask!

                          What to read...so many books, so little time

                          If you are looking for a specific book, NoveList Plus is the place to go.  Here you can also access booklists, including award winners, books for reluctant readers, llists for the college bound, etc.  Read book reviews, plot summaries, discussion guides, etc.  What was the name of that book you read last summer?  You remember the plot, but not the title.  NoveList even lets you put in plot elements to locate the title of that book!  Nonfiction books are included too!  If you're a booklover, this will drive you wild!

                          Current Events - Issues

                          CQ Researcher is just about the best resource available for current events topics and issues.  This is the place to go if you have to take a stand on a controversial issue such as gun control, stem cell research, off-shore drilling, etc.  If you are lucky enough to have a teacher who will let you choose any topic, CQ has a ready made list for you to explore.  Check it out.
